2nd Part of my vacation!

As posted on my previous blog, we went to the wildlife park located in Ballarat town. On the same day too, we headed to Soreveign Hill which is not far fr the wildlife park.
So, wat's in Sovereign Hill?? It was famous because..... it is living museum representing Ballarat discovery of gold long long time ago. In short, it was a gold mining area a few decades ago. Now it is open for tourists and the admission fee is NOT CHEAP.. abt $30++.. Luckily we followed the day tour, everything was included. :)

The whole place was awesome. It was like a very old town and we felt like we were back in the 1850's. Everything was so antique. The have everything in the town including bakeries, pubs, bowling alleys, schools, churches n a whole lot more. Couldn't describe the feeling when i was there. It's just... ermm.. like in the movies... haha..

We notice some of the workers there purposely dressed like how the people in 1850's. Just to entertain the tourists like us. We name them "the olden people"..lol..

Some of the "very old looking products"

"Olden days entertainments"...
Snooker Centre...

Bowling Alley...

Schools... with a teacher there to guide us...

Photography Studio..

Bakery.. and there were breads, cookies and pies sold there.. yum yum..

Look at these 3 musketeers...

And last but not least, the gold mining area.. where the place is famous of..
Look at the massive amount of tourists.. all of them were trying out their luck..

Trying my best to mine for gold too.. if ever i found one... muahahahahaha.. I'LL BE RICH..!!!!
ahh... day dreaming lah..

And of coz, another group picture of us.....

Overall, it was a FUN TRIP... I seriously dont mind to go again if we had another chance. hahaha...

Vacation Time!

My classmates and I decided that we shall go for a day tour during this Easter break. It was a pretty fast decision and all of us made up our mind rather quick for the day tour. Ok, set. We paid $88 for the whole day excluded lunch. We expected it to be above $100 but we manage to get a student package, so it's cheaper! THAT'S THE BENEFIT OF BEING A STUDENT! lol..

So, when everything's settled, what we need to do is to wait for the day to come which was the 7th of April.

On that day, we woke up quite early as we need to meet up at 8.15am at Flinder's St. station. We checked the schedule of the train the day b4 too so we could estimate our times. MANATAU....... We were late. Yumeko, Jeremy and I ran to the train station but b4 we could run there, we already heard the bells where they close the roads for trains. AND we couldn't catch the train we were supposed to. So wat to do, wait for the next train lor. AIKS...
Luckily we made it on time b4 the bus goes off. Phewww.....

Go, go, go......

So, our first destination is to.... Ballarat Wildlife Park...

YAY! Can see kangaroos, koalas.. wombats...

But the journey to Ballarat was so far and tiring. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to reach there..

Finally, we can see the signboard of the park which means we have reached! We quicly walk into the park like those crazy ppl nvr been to wildlife parks b4.. As we walked into the main entrance, the first store we saw was souvenier shop. adui.. i dowan see souveniers....

Meng Jiunn still have time to pose infront of the cam (btw. .. u looked so cute with those bamds on..lol) whereas b4 Jeremy and I could browse wat's inside the shop, we saw KANGAROOS outside the store... Again, we ran there like mad ppl chasing all the kangaroos. muahaha...

There were kangaroos all over the park, and of coz SHITS were everywhere too.... omg...
Look! I'm feeding him.....

I was looking at the kangaroo's pocket where they place their babies, hmm.... but i can't seems to find it.

Through my investigation, there were several types of kangaroos with different characters around the wildlife park. Some were really funny...

Done with the kangaroos and now move on to the KOALAS...

Aww... how adorable... Its fur was so soft and smooth.. Mayb he used pantene shampoo? lol... But he looked kinda fake fr this pic. Like a toy. But its REAL wan ah..

Eee... we were so lucky as we got to see the koalas. Some of my friends who went to wildlife park said they could barely see the koalas as they were placed far far away fr the visitors. And also koalas sleep 20 hours a day, the remainder 4 hours is to entertain visitors like us!

Another cute OZ animal, the wombat...

Aiks, i guess he was just too tired, so fell asleep.. Plus with my warm and gentle hands, sure can sleep well.. hahaha...

Another wombat was awake at that time.. Quickly took a snap shot of it!

And of coz, there were also the reptiles family on the other side of the park.. oh yea, the tasmanian devil was in the pic too.

Poor Rachel, she was so afraid of snakes and dun even dare to step into the reptile house.

Fuhh.. that's abt the wildlife park we've been to.. Sick of seeing animals yet?

Another group photo b4 we leave... :)

Easter Day!

It's Easter's! It is a big celebration for Australians BUT its a celebration of me eating chocolates..!!!

There are loads of different variety of chocolates sold almost everywhere during Easter.. n for those of u who dunno, i had a sweet tooth.. i lurveeee chocolates.. Jus cant resist seeing all these cute chocolates wrapped with bunnies and eggs shapes.. Its jus so tempting! Shit.. for sure i'll gain weight becoz of those calories. Tried to control myself not to buy one but in d end, i bought one. and finish eating it before Easter arrives.

oo.. look at how cute the bunny is.. reminds me of my "xiao bai" at home.. :(

Hey! Jus steal my bunny and eat it?!!

This shop was just meant for me! LOL.... Darrell Lea... The shop that only sells chocolate... aiyo... sure gain weight... Just look at what they have for Easter.. walao!! Simpsons??

During Easter, most of the shops will be closed. It's really a big celebration for Aussies. Hmm... even the 24-7 Coles Supermarket closeses. So, my aunt suggested we go kacau my uncle.... haha.... atleast there is something for us to do.. rather than staying at home facing the walls.

So, when i was at my uncle's house... i increased my calories again... sob sob....

Captured some of the boring faces of the boys, while waiting for dinner to be served. haha...
Nicely cooked dinner by my Uncle.. Awesome....

I bought my cousins chocolates for Easter.....

But in the end, i brought back a few as my aunt asked me to do so.. Sei le.. fatty bom bom..

Luckily Easter's once a year.. or else..... haha... can't imagine how fat will i look....

CNY in Melb!

Now only wanna post abt CNY in Melb. A bit too late right. haha... But nvrm la. 1st time celeb CNY in other country so must tell a bit....

Well, during CNY which was 2 months ago, it was damn hot... Around 36 degrees... Hotter than in M'sia.. Crazy. Nearly fainted but luckily still alive. LOL..

For this year's CNY, i celebrated with my aunt, jeremy and his fren who came all d way fr sydney.. Jona, and his sis, Jocelyn who came to Melb for studies too. :)

We had a great time too though we are not celebrating with our own families.. except me.. i hav my aunt here.. haha...

So, on the eve of CNY, we went down city with the temperature of 36 degrees. It was tedious but bcoz its CNY eve, no choice..haha.. (... as if) .

As we reached city, we straight away went into Crown casino to avoid the crazy weather. We had hi-tea there.. yes.. in the casino, as all of us felt hungry. Partyly bcoz of d weather too. Blame it on the weather man... And it wasn't tat expensive though to eat there infact its cheaper than outside. Should have taken pics on wat we ate but forgotten. haha..

As we were in casino that time, all of us decided to try our lucks since it was CNY eve, see if we can win any jackpots.. Obviously we were all day dreaming. How on earth we can win so easily... Eventually nothing entered our pockets. :(

After loosing our money in d casino :( , we decided to walk around outside as we heard there will be events for CNY around the stretch of Yarra river. So we walked with the hot weather and sweats all around.. Yuck.. haha...

There... the 5 of us... Luckily we manage to hide our sweats...

As we were walking, we found.........

a giant, clumsy, big, fat "Choi San Ye" walking around and surrounded by loads of ppl. I dun dare to walk near him as i worried he might fall and i'll be gone by then. lol..

There were performances too...

As this is the year of "PIG", we found pigs in d middle of Melb city..
(mum.. i found ur "long lost fren" in Melb) LOL...

Oh.. dinner's time approching.. For sure there'll be loads of ppl and we worried that all d restaurants might be full. and we dun wanna end up eating McD, so without wasting our time, we rushed to Chinatown and look for nice foods to pamper ourself..

Alamak! wat we predicted came true.. Loads of ppl here n there... scary....

Fuhh.. relieved... Just because of the lion dance... Since it was there, we stood and watch for a while. perhaps not a while.. because we waited for the fire cracker, it took us abt 1/2 for everything...

Most of the restaurants were fully booked and we were quite lucky in the sense that we got ourself a nice chinese restaurant who serves us.. YAY! The reunion dinner costs us abt $26 per person.. WOW... Expensive.. but wat to do... once a year.. dun care lah. :P

And my mum purposely send me wat she cooked on reunion dinner, made me miss home so much.. So i made a comparison between d 2 pics... Which one is more delicious? Of coz home-cooked foods!!

FOODS!!

When i first arrived in Melb, the conversion here really frights me off. RM2.80=AUD 1.. But lucky still, if its in UK ..pounds pounds pounds...

No such thing as $3 for a bowl of mee or a plate of chicken rice. The average price will be $7-8 for jus a rice with 2 dishes. Even for fast foods, (and we havent try the McD here yet.. arghh..) its about $ 5-6 a set.. It's jus like eating in Italianies or TGIF everyday. So, we had no choice but to COOK. These are some of the foods we cooked for just for the sake of eating. haha...

As we dun have any experince in cooking, our "secret recipe" is.....

Haha... Dun under estimate all these instant package sauces.. It tastes good too. But eating all these too much is not good at all.. PRESERVATIVES... AJINOMOTO.....
If u guys have seen Jeremy's blog, i'm sure all of u knew tat we cooked pan mee in Melb. haha.. N we bought the wrong flour twice. But eventually we got the right one. Although we are not too sure about the method, it was a success.YAY!.. haha... Yum yum...

But we do hav times where we were too lazee to cook... Wat do we do? "Berpuasa?" That will not happen to us at all. haha... We eat out of coz...

Look wat we found.... It's "tai pao & lo mai kai"!! haha... so happy when we saw it ... This "kopitiam" we went to in Boxhill were run by Malaysians.. It tastes good but it's different with wat we had in back home... I had "yin yong" hong kong style as well... yum yum... nice!
I had "chap fan" (economical rice) in Melbourne!!! But........ the price here is sooo much more expensive and the portion is much more smaller (refer to pic 1- tat's the "chap fan") . So its not so "economical" anyway.. Usually in Malaysia we will scoop the dishes ourself. But the system is different here. U choose whether which size u want first. Large ($7) or small ($6). hmm... n then they will scoop for you. Limited to 2 dishes and a rice / mee. Not worth it lah.. But what to do, consider the cheapest d.

My housemate Yumeko had Naan which costs her $2.50. It's nothing fantastic abt the naan, according to her. It has nothing except potatoes n.. i think there's other vege in it. Not too sure.

And the third pic on top was Jeremy's. Obviously it was burger and chips. More worth it in the sense that the portion is so much bigger where it costs him $7.

Another nice place we went. It was a fine dining restaurant in Crown where they were famous for their CAKES!! Yummy!!! And the price was yummy too.. $9.50 for a PIECE of cake.. They offer a wide variety of deserts ranges from cheese cakes to pies to biscuits.. Awesome! Would like to go there again.. So tempting. The environment there was so good. Beautiful. And you have to make bookings b4 goin there orelse, u'll be lining up for atleast 2-3 metres fr the restaurant itself.

Just look at the ceiling itself...

WOK IN A BOX.. This is the shop's name. Cute name. All the foods they cooked will be placed in one cute lil' box. See.. i told you Australian loves cute stuff. haha... They offer quite a lot of Malaysian food as well. i had nasi goreng. They offerred char kuey teow too..... Not bad though. The price? As usual.. Small for $6 n large for $7. Well, still depends on what u order. Like if its seafood udon, the price will definately be more expensive.

Oh.. here's how the shop looks like.. But i took it the another day with my classmates..

Lucky Coq.. Another nice place... Why nice? Coz its the cheapest place to eat here.. It only cost $3 for this pc of pizza.. Its a promotion price for certain hoursonly .(12pm-4pm) They offer a wide range of pizzas as well..

This is "Salmone Pizza". Without the $3 promotion it cost $7.90.

The rest is "Zuchinni Pizza" & "Ceaser Pizza"... Also $3 per pc.. Worth it!

Don't feel hungry after seeing this ya. As i'm hungry after doin this page of blog. haha...
