No such thing as $3 for a bowl of mee or a plate of chicken rice. The average price will be $7-8 for jus a rice with 2 dishes. Even for fast foods, (and we havent try the McD here yet.. arghh..) its about $ 5-6 a set.. It's jus like eating in Italianies or TGIF everyday. So, we had no choice but to COOK. These are some of the foods we cooked for just for the sake of eating. haha...
As we dun have any experince in cooking, our "secret recipe" is.....
Haha... Dun under estimate all these instant package sauces.. It tastes good too. But eating all these too much is not good at all.. PRESERVATIVES... AJINOMOTO.....
If u guys have seen Jeremy's blog, i'm sure all of u knew tat we cooked pan mee in Melb. haha.. N we bought the wrong flour twice. But eventually we got the right one. Although we are not too sure about the method, it was a success.YAY!.. haha... Yum yum...
My housemate Yumeko had Naan which costs her $2.50. It's nothing fantastic abt the naan, according to her. It has nothing except potatoes n.. i think there's other vege in it. Not too sure.
And the third pic on top was Jeremy's. Obviously it was burger and chips. More worth it in the sense that the portion is so much bigger where it costs him $7.
But we do hav times where we were too lazee to cook... Wat do we do? "Berpuasa?" That will not happen to us at all. haha... We eat out of coz...
Look wat we found.... It's "tai pao & lo mai kai"!! haha... so happy when we saw it ... This "kopitiam" we went to in Boxhill were run by Malaysians.. It tastes good but it's different with wat we had in back home... I had "yin yong" hong kong style as well... yum yum... nice!
I had "chap fan" (economical rice) in Melbourne!!! But........ the price here is sooo much more expensive and the portion is much more smaller (refer to pic 1- tat's the "chap fan") . So its not so "economical" anyway.. Usually in Malaysia we will scoop the dishes ourself. But the system is different here. U choose whether which size u want first. Large ($7) or small ($6). hmm... n then they will scoop for you. Limited to 2 dishes and a rice / mee. Not worth it lah.. But what to do, consider the cheapest d.

Another nice place we went. It was a fine dining restaurant in Crown where they were famous for their CAKES!! Yummy!!! And the price was yummy too.. $9.50 for a PIECE of cake.. They offer a wide variety of deserts ranges from cheese cakes to pies to biscuits.. Awesome! Would like to go there again.. So tempting. The environment there was so good. Beautiful. And you have to make bookings b4 goin there orelse, u'll be lining up for atleast 2-3 metres fr the restaurant itself.
Just look at the ceiling itself...

WOK IN A BOX.. This is the shop's name. Cute name. All the foods they cooked will be placed in one cute lil' box. See.. i told you Australian loves cute stuff. haha... They offer quite a lot of Malaysian food as well. i had nasi goreng. They offerred char kuey teow too..... Not bad though. The price? As usual.. Small for $6 n large for $7. Well, still depends on what u order. Like if its seafood udon, the price will definately be more expensive.
Oh.. here's how the shop looks like.. But i took it the another day with my classmates..
